My creative process & how you can find your own inner creative muse
I often get asked about my creative process and how I am able to continuously create new content. So let me share some of my most important learnings when it comes to summoning my own inner creative muse 🌹
First off: It is SO important to not compare yourself to other creators. Easier said then done, I know, BUT:
There is no easier way to feel like you are lacking than to worship a personality that is not your own!
In a world that values productivity and constant output, it's easy to fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to others. We often find ourselves looking at other creators who seem to have an endless supply of energy, consistently churning out content without pause. In their seemingly effortless creations, we may start to question ourselves, our own intuition, and our own unique creations. But here's the thing: everyone is unique. No one works and creates like you do. Your process, your ideas, your perspective are all entirely your own. It's essential to remember that creativity is not a competition, but rather an expression of individuality.
If you were to measure your worth solely based on the quantity or consistency of your output, you would be doing yourself a disservice.
Thats‘s not to say that we shoulnd‘t take inspiration from others. I am constantly inspired by the people around me, by my husband with his endless supply of energy, by my friends who are all so beautifully unique in their own way, by other creators that I follow who create so much beautiful inspiring content! But I am aware that I do not need to be like them in order to be worthy. I am perfect just the way I am. And so are you.
For me it comes down to the understanding that my gifts are within me. That I already have everything I need in order to create authentically.
Trust in your ability. In yourself. In your creations. And become one with what you create. Only when your work is a part of your identity can you authentically bring it to the outside world and attract people who like you as a personality and your work at the same time. This is why I always teach what I need most. Everything I teach is drawn from my own life experience.
What and who you are will always be exactly right. Try not to look left and right, at what others are creating, at how others are marketing themselves - if you look inside yourself you will find your answers even if they are sometimes opposite to what is currently 'popular' on the market. Maybe these are the moments when you are the one who is creating a new direction.
I have been there. When I started my journey sensual yoga was hardly to be found. But these teachings came rushing through me. They felt like the biggest clearest ‚YES‘ I have ever heard in my body. I didn’t know how it would be perceived but I knew I had to teach it.
We are cyclical beings and no two days are ever the same and this can be reflected in our work. My creative work is 100% linked to my cycle and I have deeply learned to honor that. (Let me know if I should write another blogpost about that topic).
Another very important point is this: it is okay to reinvent yourself (again and again).
Meaning: if for example you have been creating something for a couple of months or even years now and you don't feel it anymore, then allow yourself to adapt everything to who you are now. Dare to reinvent yourself, restructure, let go of things even if it’s going well, start something new even if there are no customers for it yet. I have redesigned my brand so MANY times, my teachings change every couple of months. They change because I change. And when I change, my creations have to change because everything else would leave me with a disconnect. And believe me I know this can be scary. But I deeply believe that if you stay true to yourself and your true expression you will always connect with exactly the right people and clients.
And last but not least: allow yourself to walk a slower pace.
One that can actually sustain you and the life you are living. We live in such a fast-paced time where we are told that everything has to happen now, that success never comes if it doesn't come right away - and it is super normal to get sucked into this vortex from time to time. But know that a sustainable business takes time and dedication and passion and everything will flow to you in the right time. I allow myself to create intuitively. I don’t have and never had a set number of classes I have to create every month. We don’t have a set film schedule. I never really know what is going to flow through me and when but I have learned to trust.
Because I know that when we allow ourselves to move forward with slowness and presence and not rush our creations - this is when you will be deeply connected to your own inner creative muse. So take the time to connect with your inner source of inspiration, trust your intuition, and allow your creations to unfold naturally. Your unique perspective and authentic voice will resonate with those who truly appreciate and value your work.
